Jokic Shines with Triple-Double

The Denver Nuggets have taken an early lead in the Western Conference finals after a 114-103 win over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1 on Saturday night at the Ball Arena. Nikola Jokic led the way for the Nuggets with a dominant triple-double of 34 points, 21 rebounds, and 14 assists.

The Lakers started the game strong and held a 60-43 lead at halftime. However, the Nuggets came out firing in the second half and quickly closed the gap. With 5:30 remaining in the third quarter, Jokic gave the Nuggets their first lead of the game with a jumper. The Nuggets then held on to their lead for the rest of the game.

In addition to Jokic's performance, Jamal Murray also contributed 24 points for the Nuggets. Aaron Gordon added 18 points off the bench, and Michael Porter Jr. had 15 points.

For the Lakers, LeBron James led the team with 25 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists. Anthony Davis added 23 points, but he struggled with his shot, going just 9-of-24 from the field.

The Lakers will now have to regroup and try to even the series when they host the Nuggets in Game 2 on Monday night.
