Four teams have secured the final spots for the men's basketball tournament at the Olympic Games Paris 2024. They were decided at the 2024 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, which took place from 22 to 26 June 2023.
The four teams that have qualified are:
- Argentina
- Australia
- Canada
- Spain
These teams join the 12 teams that had already qualified for the tournament: the host nation France, the United States, the top two teams from each of the four FIBA Continental Cups (Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe), and the winner of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
The men's basketball tournament at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 will be played in a single-elimination format. The 16 teams will be divided into four groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, where they will be re-seeded according to their records in the group stage.
The quarterfinals, semifinals, and final will be played in a single-elimination format. The gold medal game will be played on 11 August 2024.
The United States is the defending champion in the men's basketball tournament. They have won the gold medal in the last four Olympic Games.
